Central European Time (CET), used in most parts of Europe and a few North African countries, is a standard time which is 1 hour ahead (UTC+01:00) of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

 

Visa, Maestro, Mater Card and American Express are accepted in most shops, hotels and restaurants. You will find a cash dispenser on nearly every corner.

 

The voltage in Poland is 220 volts. Plugs are European standard with two round pins.

 

Typical of Warsaw and the surrounding area, the temperate transitional climate is characterised by frequent changes in weather, because over Poland the dry air masses from the Eurasian continent and the moist from the clash. The average annual temperature in Warsaw is 8–9°C. The lowest temperatures on thermometers usually appear from mid-January to mid-February (average January temperature is -3°C). The warmest and most sunny months of the year are July and August (average temperature in July is 18°C).

112 is the European emergency phone number, available everywhere in the EU, free of charge. You can call 112 from fixed and mobile phones to contact any emergency service: an ambulance, the fire brigade or the police. In Poland 112 calls are answered by the Fire Brigade and Police.

Warsaw boasts a quick, safe and efficient public transport system of metro, trams, buses, night buses and the system of urban bikes.

 

The second line of Warsaw’s metro system opened in 2015 and connects the two banks of the Vistula River. Metro runs until midnight on weekdays and to 3.00 am at weekends. Night buses are marked with the letter “N”, which run from 11.15 pm to 04.45 pm.

 

All public transportation tickets can be purchased at ZTM points, in some newspaper kiosks and at ticket machines located in the metro stations, bus stops, as well as on some buses and trams.

 

You can pay either with cash or by card. Tickets can be used for all means of transport.

 

You can select from 20-, 75- and 90-minute tickets. Longer-term options include one-day and weekend tickets.

 

If you use public transportation without a valid ticket, you risk a fine. People over 70 and children up to 7th year of age are entitled to free travel.

Entry Documents Required

National Identity Card for citizens from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican.

Passport (valid up to 6 months) is required for all other visitors.
 

Visa application

Citizens of the following countries are not required to be in possession of a visa when entering Poland for less than 90 days:

Letter of invitation

Individuals requiring an official Letter of Invitation can request one from the Congress Secretariat for EHRS 2025. To receive a Letter of Invitation, attendees must first register to the congress and submit payment in full. The Letter of Invitation does not financially obligate EHRS in any way. All expenses incurred in relation to the congress attendance are the sole responsibility of the attendee.

When we receive payment with your registration we will send you a signed invitation letter.

Visa requirements

It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to take care of his / her visa requirements. Attendees who require an entry visa must allow sufficient time for the application procedure. Attendees should contact the nearest embassy or consulate to determine the appropriate timing of their visa applications. The Congress Secretariat for EHRS 2025 will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. The registration fee minus a handling fee of EUR 135 will be refunded after the congress if the visa was applied for in time (by 28 February 2025), and an official proof of the embassy confirming that a visa could not be granted, is forwarded to the Congress Secretariat ehrs2025@symposium.pl
